Cartoonist and caricatures…
What is the difference between a cartoonist and caricature artist?
A cartoonist creates illustrations in a single panel or multipanel or page format.
Single panel cartoons are typical of those you will find in daily comics where a cartoon image
or illustration is contained in a single box. The box or panel tells the story.
You may find the illustration or cartoon as the main subject that tells a story, or delivers
a message in one of two methods. One technique is to use a balloon or text bubble near or above
the head of the cartoon character as in the example below. The other method is to illustrate a panel and include
a caption or punch line at the bottom or top.
Caricature artists work from an original design-as in the actual face or body of person using a photograph. The artist selects certain features of the person in which to exaggerate or distort in order to ‘caricaturize’ the subject. The caricature artist may stretch the head, chin, nose, eyes, ears, etc. to obtain the effect that best suits the intention of the artwork.
Caricature art is sometimes extreme in depicting a person where
the features are so distorted that may offend the audience.
I work to poke fun at folks in my caricature artwork and not to create ill feelings.
Actually, it is rewarding to be able to entertain my clients by trimming off a few
pounds, adding some muscle and turning back the hands of time-all to make
the subject look good in the end!
So let’s have some fun : )

Caricature artists-and how to choose one for your event.
How to choose a caricature artist for your gift, party or event who can create entertaining artwork.
Caricatures should have a good likeness of the person, or subject, being drawn but also have a certain ‘wow’ value. A look or design that makes the caricature unique, funny and memorable. After all your guest will display this souvenier at the office or home. It should be impressive enough to hang on a wall, right?
Zamudio’s Studio produces gag cartoon caricatures that place your friend or loved one into a gag joke scene that they will love. We use humor in good taste that entertains without offending. The idea is to put people at ease-to have some fun-at our own expense! Putting the subject into a lighthearted scene helps to sell the caricature over and over again each time that they see it.
When searching for a caricature artist you want to be confident that the work will be done on time (or before), that the finished art will be accurate, funny and that your buying experience will be professional and friendly. Zamudios Studio is happy to produce custom caricatures for you or for your events anytime where you can just relax and leave the details to us.
There are many caricature artists available that do good work. David Zamudio leads the field as an artist with professional creative talents that can produce entertaining, inventive, one-of-a kind caricatures that last a lifetime-and make you laugh. Offering studio caricatures by mail or live caricature party entertainment services for events.

The decay of business and art
THE DECAY OF BUSINESS AND ART
Forgive the bleak title but it fits our topic of discussion: integrity.
Integrity is just telling the truth..completely. Telling someone about themselves to their face (because you are just being honest and all..) is not integrity. You would be a better friend by coming along side them as a helper. Do what you can for them without adding to their pain.
Telling the truth is more than words. Being a living example of honesty in all things is integrity. It is the ‘thing’ that you are known for… being a person of integrity in family, relationships, community and in business. When you are in need of a particular service, as in, physician, financial help, car repair, lawyer, etc what is the first thing that comes to mind? Isn’t something like..Who do I know? You will -as most of us will do- ask someone that you ‘trust’, right?
Why do you ask anyone-you are capable of making a decision without any help? The answer is obvious. You trust those whom have demonstrated integrity in your mind; therefore, their advice is worthy of consideration. You are counting on them to deliver the truth. They would’nt do you wrong – right? (Well you would hope not)
So how does all this relate to business and art? Successful businesses have a structure established that meets a need or solves a problem for the customer client. A well thought out business model will produce a consisent flow of customers and revenue. An artist designs a product with an established system of steps that leads to a successful outcome: the art (or design) just works. The finished product has the right colors, shapes, look, etc., and it serves the need(s) of the customer client. Pretty simple huh?
The problem with integrity is that if it is not a focal point of your business model-or of your personal conduct- you are in a state of decay. Eventually, if not treated, your illness will become terminal. Your integrity will cease to exist-along with your business and relationships. The artist must follow the same rules of honesty and integrity in his or her trade. You must create the absolute best work possible for your client. The finished work should produce oohs and aahhhs from observers. If the artist shortcuts the job and does not do their ‘best’ work then the work may look good, but may not produce any more fruit for the creator.
Absolute top quality service and promises kept will ensure future business and referrals will flow your way. Neglect your ‘word’ and renege on promises made and your success in life and business will begin to fade and eventually dry up. Art is created by the use of certain rules pertaining to visual elements and how they work together. The artist is free to create in their own style but if these rules are neglected then it becomes obvious that something looks off center or too big or out of proportion, etc. The art just looks odd-it does not work. So do your best everyday.
Integrity works! (hey that could be a t-shirt …mmm.)

“Religious Wedgie”
Have you ever heard of a ‘religious wedgie’?
This modern term (possibly coined by this same teacher?) is used by a local (well respected) university professor during his sermon at our humble church last week- is where I first heard the term.
This is actually new information and should give us plenty to think on. The ‘scene of the crime’ takes place thousands of years ago when this high and mighty religious group, know as the pharisees, were trying to trap Jesus with their clever religious logic. You know the type..they proudly question people of God with seemingly difficult logical arguments to somehow trap them with their own words, ie., what if God mad a rock so heavy that he could not lift it? , and other mindless reason, etc.
The pharisees were experts in the law of God. They understood each and every rule required to fulfill the law and they were quick to let everyone else know this fact. When Jesus comes on the scene these pharisees seem to have their religious underwear tied in a knot., ie., a “religious wedgie”. You see the pharisees were (in their minds) the keepers of the law; therefore, they do not need Jesus to teach them anything about the law since they are the local (hypocrites) experts.
It seems as if they expected that when Jesus answers the question with which of these rules (law) is most important then they could use His answer against Him. So the pharisees set the trap for Jesus with their best question to date: “teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?
Jesus replies: “Love the Lord your God with all of your heart and with all of your soul and with all of your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Laws and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
The illustration depicts the leader of the pharisees as he hears the answer. So the point of the story is don’t be pharisee but love God and love others, in other words, don’t get a “religious wedgie.”

The Lion of Judah Poster
I have created and developed a unique illustration entitled: “the Lion of Judah” and prints of the original have sold in several countries including the US, Australia, Germany, Canada and Israel. My search for both customers and distributors of my art print poster “The Lion of Judah” continues.
Email: david@zamudiosstudio.com
As the owner of Zamudios Art Studio in St. Louis, Missouri, I am confident that the lion prints will attract a lot of attention from art lovers and from the general public. As the artist and copyright holder I can assure you that there is no other work of this scope and level of quality of workmanship in the world.
The concept consumed over two years of development with the final illustration work requiring over 40 hours to complete. To learn more of how the illustration was created and to see a copy for yourself go to zamudiosartstudio.com
